GALLERY 2A - ART QUILTS

BIRDS OF PARADISE
This quilt won First Place in the 1997 Benartex
Made from all cotton "Impressions" fabric with a black
poly-cotton moire border.
The rainbow colored strands in this quilt are entirely machine
appliqued, using the fusible interfacing method, monofilament thread, and Pointillist
fabric. The borders are pieced using the same line of fabric, which actually is
shaded the way it looks. This design was inspired by a fractal design we saw while
surfing the internet. It is machine quilted. This quilt was Runner-Up in the
Pointillist Palette Contest in 1996. The back is a multi-colored print on black.
It has a 6" sleeve for hanging.
